NHS Trust approached me to create a new intergrated app for their Neonatal units. The purpose of the app wasto improve parent-infant bonding, enhance unit experience and educate families.VISIT SITE
Central to the app is the ability to record and monitor a baby’s development. I simplified these into calendars and list views, highlighting key information in each.
I chose icons to represent the different options for a mother to select, at quick glance this makes it's easy and clear to view. It’s friendly, interactive and emotive without being twitchy and flashy.
I imagined that this recording would better suit a journal-style input as it's a personal experience with photos and family involvement. It's a simple entry process with editable fields.
Based on the World Health Organisation data, this started out as a complex screen, requiring multiple inputs from a user for correct calculations. I simplified this process and graph view.
The ‘Add’ button is present in the tab bar at all times for quick access. Once tapped the icons fly out, hover and sit within a nautral thumb‘s reach for fewer mistaken touches.
Parents can ask any specific, non-urgent questions through this feature. I designed the messages in a conversational view with subjects and timestamps.
It was important for the client that parents could understand the different aspects of neonatal care. I grouped these helpful resources into one tab.
A journey in the neonatal unit can last a few days or many weeks. It’s therefore important for parents to share their experiences during this time.
